This Fire station is permanently manned 24/7 with the following

The Wellington fire area covers the central city and surrounding
suburbs of New Zealand's capital city. The Area also includes the
satellite western suburban and central city area of nearby Porirua
City and up through the Kapiti Coast. These cities between them
house around 350,000 people as well as providing the geographic
base for New Zealand's Government and public sector support
structure. In addition, the neighbouring Hutt Valley - Wairarapa
District adds another 150,000 to the greater Wellington
population.
The Wellington Fire Area comprises 16 stations and 370
personnel. Nine of our stations are manned by full time crews with
three of those stations also maintaining a volunteer unit attached
to the station. Seven stations are solely volunteer and in addition
the Area also has a volunteer operational support unit. The area
adjoins the Hutt - Wairarapa area.
Personnel consist of: 199 full time firefighters

The Hutt - Wairarapa area consists of 11 stations with 3
adjoining volunteer stations. In total, the Wellington region has
30 stations serving a population of 500,000 people.
