Geocache Description:

This cache is an easy find, right off of a well maintained trail. It was placed to commemorate our 2000th find. Please make sure to hide this cache exactly like you found it, or if weather has removed hiding materials, hide better. This cache is literally right off the trail, about five feet, so if not rehidden, the muggle factor greatly increases.

In 2007 while visiting Whistler on a family vacation, my son and I were taking a stroll along this trail, Tin Pants. At one point we reached a bench and had a seat. A few minutes later, a family approached, and after patiently waiting for us to leave, led us to a hobby that would become an obsession with the father of the family. The first cache was LLL (GCYH6C). As they signed the log, Pappy90 explained the game, and how it all works, gave me the website address, and from there it was a run downhill to learn more.

I created an account, and was soon to learn without a GPS it was going to be difficult. So, I searched the village, to no avail. To Squamish, to no avail. In desperation I began to see if we could find caches without a GPS, and the journey began. Our first 23 caches were all done without a GPS, in the woods, at a mountain resort. Thanks to Google Maps, Whistler Bike Trails, village maps, and cache hiders great hints, we were off to the races.

The true obsession began when we traveled up the mountain to find the High Note Caches placed by Roving Pigeon. The views were so incredible, that it sealed the deal on caching. And now, I am hooked.
Caching has made me new and close friends, from the Douglas Clan, CombatNurse2003, RocketGlider, JoeyandCorey, Velma, Shaggy and Scooby, and more than I can give mention to here. I have helped put together caching events, helped with GeoWoodstock 2010, and have taught scouts, seniors and others to become addicted to this great game. I even broke my ankle and needed to be brought down by search and rescue while caching (GC1W7KE).

This cache is placed to say thank you to Pappy90 and roving Pigeon for showing me how great this sport, hobby, game can be, and all the joy it brings!

I hope this cache will bring some unsuspecting muggle that catches a cacher signing this log on the trail into this great activity!

Special thanks to hurleybird who graciously accepted the responsibility of watching over this cache for us!
