Located near Lyman Maderis' grave site. We decided to place a cache near this interesting site after reading kennyart's notation on a nearby cache that he knew the site was nearby, but didn't search it out. The cache is a small container with only room for a log and small items.
We found the following information in a local bicycle group newsletter: Lyman Maderis was a 19yr old from Indiana. He was visiting his father who lived on the coast and was walking from Samuel's cabin over the ridge to a small community where he could catch a stage/receive mail. Becoming lost in a snow storm his body was found at this site 4 months later.
