Welcome to my 21st cache hide. A fairly easy drive-by.
A nice easy traditional cache in Cobram. Cobram has been devoid of caches for a while now, with the only other one previously being at the old road bridge between Cobram and Barooga, over the Murray. This bridge recently underwent some restoration for historical purposes and the cache is no longer there. It is still listed on Geocaching as "Build a Bridge" and I am sure knowing cdmark it will be up and running soon.
So I have started a new run of Cobram caches, this being the first. The "Sturt Stone" on the Murray Valley Highway reads "Charles Sturt Passed Near Here..." I got to wondering how far from here he passed.
Well it seems he would have passed within at least a few kilometers of this marker having explored a long length of the Murray River.
If you have children with you, please be very very careful with them at this cache. The highway can be very busy. You can park a fair way off the road for safety.
