Geocache Description:

THIS CACHE IS NOT AT THE GIVEN COORDINATES. The coordinates bring you to a sign in the Jenny Lind Chapel Cemetery in Andover, Henry County, that gives you information for the cache coordinates located a few miles out of town along a country road.

This is another in the Illinois Spirit Quest series designed to bring you to cemeteries you might not otherwise see. The caches themselves are nothing special; rather, the cemeteries themselves are interesting to see. Because of its location in town, I did not feel comfortable placing a cache along the fenceline of this and another cemetery in town, so I placed the caches near each other west of town.

I suggest you gather information for this cache and the nearby Old Swedish Methodist Cemetery: IL Spirit Quest#134 (GC2BW5K) before going out to find the caches, which are close together along a country road a few miles west of Andover.

Jenny Lind Chapel is a National Historic Site. A sign near the chapel states that Swedish Lutheral immigrants established their first congregation in America there in 1850 and under Pastor L. B. Esbjorn dedicated the chapel in 1854. The cemetery next to the chapel is full of old tombstones.

The given coordinates bring you to a sign near one of these stones for the 1st and 2nd of Esbjorn's wives and 4 children. On the sign are birth and death dates for the wives. Find the following information and use it to figure the coordinates for this cache with the formula below:

x = number of years between the deaths of the 2 wives ____

y = age of Helena when she died ____ ____

N 41° 17.(393 + x) W 090° 19.(150 + y)

The cache itself is a match container just off a quiet country road a few miles west of Andover.

Please bring your own pen, park safely, and enjoy!
