Treasures of Scouting
Celebrating Scouting Programs
The true treasures of Scouting are the values that it teaches
our youth, helping them grow with character and integrity. Through
Treasures of Scouting, we highlight Scouting values while getting
Scouts and non-Scouts excited about our programs.
For 100 years, the Boy Scouts of America has helped youth become
more than they ever thought possible. And we will continue that
journey into the next century.
Cache to Cub Scouts: Tiger The Tiger Cub program is for
boys ages 7 years old or in the 1st grade. To begin his path to the
Tiger Cub rank, the Tiger Cub must learn the Cub Scout promise, the
Cub Scout sign, and the Cub Scout salute. When he has accomplished
these tasks, he will be awarded his Tiger Cub immediate recognition
emblem. This is a tiger paw with four strands for beads that he
wears on the right pocket.
The cub scout program in the US began in 1930 and currently is
open to boys in 1st through 5th grade. The cub scouts offers fun
and challenging experiences that inspire confidence and teach
important values. Cub Scout Geocaching is an important addition to
the Scouting program.
