Geocache Description:

The cache is located in the grounds surrounding Pallas Castle, located near Tynagh, in Co Gaway, Near one of the towers locate an old tree with three trunks.

Pallas Castle, located near Tynagh, in Co Gaway is one of the best preserved tower houses in Ireland, with both its tower and bawn in a good state of preservation.

It was built by the Burke family around 1500 and is now a National Monument. The tower itself is five stories high and is surrounded by a strong bawn wall, with a two-storey gatehouse guarding the entrance.
