Geocache Description:

A short walk to a picturesque waterfall.

Congratulations to Aljomorton on FTF !

In about 1800 a miller forbade his daughter's swain from seeing his beloved. In revenge the slighted suitor left his spectacles in the thatch of the watermill and the burning sun completed the job by consuming the mill. Or so the story goes. It's unlikely, but that's why this lovely little waterfall is called the Spectacle E'e Falls.

Park either at Sandford hall (55.39.474, -4.02.188) and walk down through the village or at the Craig bridge and walk along the Avon. In the old days the second route would have involved leaping across the Frew steps but there is a bridge there now to make things a bit less adventurous.

This cache has already come a long way as it has been placed on behalf of a US cacher, MightyDee from California.

There are reasonably good paths to the cache but it can be slippy, and down by the water is especially tricky.
