The River Great Ouse flows from its source near Brackley to the sea at King's Lynn, running through Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Norfolk. Work is in progress on the Ouse Valley Way to open a network of footpaths along this magnificent river from 'source to sea' - making this route one of the longest river valley walks in Britain. The first section of the Ouse Valley Way walk opened in 1990 in the district of Huntingdonshire, and the whole route was formally opened in May 2004.
Mile Marker #120 is one of a series of caches along this official Long Distance Footpath. The idea is to encourage more people to explore the walking equivalent of motorways, "speeding" the walker from start to finish (in this case from Syresham near Brackley to Kings Lynn). However, the entire walk can be broken down into day walks using public transport.
This series was started by and is being managed by The Red Duke if you could add to this please contact The Red Duke via Geocaching.com so he can co-ordinate things.
Mile Marker #120 is a small box which contains a logbook and pencil and a few items to trade. The road on this section of the river is very busy at times please take care when crossing.
