For those that are interested in knowing more about "One Eyed Jack" the Golden Eagle. See his short Bio below. This bio was written by his trainer.
"Jack was a wonderful ambassador for Golden Eagles. He was not only beautiful, but very willing to be shown to the public, whether that meant being perched in our courtyard, traveling with staff to special events, or shown on the glove on our stage. We were fortunate enough to obtain Jack from a falconer who had rehabilitated the Eagle after he’d collided with a barbed wire fence when he was quite young. While he had regained his site in one eye, his other eye never recovered and eventually had to be removed. Hence his name “One-Eyed Jack”. Lacking depth perception, Jack could not be released to the wild and he found a home here for 8 years as an education bird. He became a favorite of our visitors and to those whom we visited in schools, at community gatherings and during special presentations. He was one of the best raptors I’ve ever worked with and is still sorely missed by those of us who had the pleasure of working closely with him."
