Geocache Description:

This stretch of highway has two footbridges. One leads towards a local school rowing shed but this one leads from the grounds of the Maritime College to ...well nowhere!

Perhaps by placing this cache the bridge will see some use.The bridge does span a busy section of highway but there is space on the verge to park on the city side when travelling north prior to the footbridge. When travelling south, pass under the footbridge for approximately 100m to a grassy flat area. You will have to walk further but this may be the ideal approach away from the road.

Cache is a 200ml Sistema with log, pencil and small swaps.

Thanks to fellow cacher I have found the answer to the question. When originally built the bridge was to lead to a dock for the Australian Maratime vessels. Needless to say when they came to build the dock they found the river too silted and not nearly deep enough.
