Geocache Description:

Wicker Wells.
This cache is the first one along a circular walk of approximately two and a half miles, starting and ending near Somerleyton Church. Parking is available next to the church car park. The footpath is a few yards to the left as you leave the car park on the right hand side of the road. The cache is located close to where you can see the water from the footpath.

The area along this track is the site of the former Wicker Well estate of the 1600s. Timothy Money of Yarmouth, who died in 1772, aged 60, was the proprietor of that charmingly secluded piece of water, luxuriously fringed with shrubs and drooping trees, called Wicker Well, which afterwards became attached to the Somerleyton estate. All that remains are two cottages and a thatched barn that were outbuildings of the former mansion. After passing Wicker Well Cottages and the low part of the track by Wicker Well Lake, Keep to the left along Waddling Lane. This track is now part of the Angles Way.
