My Front Yard: Historic Whitinsville Mystery Cache
BiPR: Fifteen years already? Surprised it lasted this long. But this little, local cache finally seems to have disappeared for good. Maybe it was the recent storm. Or overly aggressive groundskeeping by town DPW. Sorry, it's no longer there. And we'll be moving on soon, too, so I regret to put this cache to bed. Thanks for visiting.

There's history all around us, including in my front yard (almost). Not long ago, the town placed benches and a memorial to Corporal Harvey Duquette, U.S. Army, on this patch of town-owned land. Read about Corp. Duquette and get the clues to the final. Bring a pen.
Easy parking along the street.
I always said that for me to get a first to find, it would have to be in my front yard. This is pretty close; too bad I can't log it. But it's one of those historic places I see every day and wondered what it's about.
This site is in the Whitinsville Historic District, and many of the surrounding homes were built in the late 1800s-early 1900s for families associated with Whitin Machine Works. A classic mill village.
