 Geoaufschluss Golberg
Der Golberg (325m NN) ist wie der Verrenberg und der Lindelberg ein dem Keuperstufenrand vorgelagerter Zeugenberg. Die Gesteinsschichten die ihn aufbauen, gehören zum Keuper, der zusammen mit Buntsandstein und Muschelkalk die Trias-Formation bildet.
Vor ca. 200 Millionen Jahren wurde das Material aus dem die Schichten bestehen, in einer Deltalandschaft bzw. in einem Meeresbecken abgelagert.
Die Decke des Golbergs bildet der feinkörnige, rotbraune, ca. 1,5-2m mächtige Schilfsandstein. Die darunter liegenden Schichten gehören zum Gipskeuper. Zwischen verschiedenfarbigen, relativ weichen Mergel- und Tonsteinen finden sich helle, etwas härtere Steinmergel-Bänkchen.
Der Schilfsandstein hat seinen Namen von Resten ehemaliger Schachtelhalme, die man früher fälschlicherweise für Schilf hielt.
Der Aufschluss, oben am südwestlichen Ende des Golbergs, zeigt den Übergang von den obersten Schichten des Gipskeupers, den Estherienschichten, zum Schilfsandstein und die fortschreitende Verwitterung dieser Schichten. Vor dem Geoaufschluss steht eine Tafel mit einem Schaubild das die genaue Anordnung der Schichten zeigt. (Quelle: Schautafel am Golberg)
Um diesen Earthcache loggen zu dürfen ist folgendes zu tun:
Beantworte 2 Fragen mit Hilfe der Schautafel vor Ort:
A) Welche Farben hat das weiche Mergel- und Tongestein?
B) Was ist die (logische!) Summe der Zahlen hinter den 4 "Km"-Angaben?
Setze die Antworten zu einem Wort zusammen. Die Farben schreibst Du in selber Reihenfolge und die Summe dahinter (z.B. gelblilapink64). Ersetze dann damit die Sternchen in folgender Mail-Addresse: geofaex-***@yahoo.de. Schicke eine Mail an diese Adresse. Sollte die Mail als unzustellbar zurück kommen stimmt deine Lösung nicht. Anpassung an geänderte GC-Guidelines: Alternativ, um Deine Anonymität zu waren, kannst Du mir die Antworten auch über mein Profil senden.
Ausserdem benötigst Du ein Foto das erkennen lässt dass Du vor Ort warst. Was auf dem Bild ist bleibt Dir selbst überlassen, solange keine Daten drauf sind die zur Lösung benötigt werden. Am liebsten wäre mir ein Bild von Dir und Deinem GPS beim Geländer der Aussichtsplattform (Waypoint EGFOTO, oberhalb vom Geoaufschluss), das deinem Log beigefügt ist (Beispielfoto).
Da es nicht schwer ist den Cache zu lösen musst Du nicht auf meine Logfreigabe warten. Sollte wider erwarten etwas nicht stimmen schreib ich Dich über deinen Account an.

Geooutcrop Golberg
The Golberg (325m) is like the Verrenberg and the Lindelberg a witness mountain offshore to the Keuperstufenrand. The rock strata from the Golberg belong to the Keuper which forms the Trias formation together with colored sandstone and mussel lime.
Before approx. 200 million years was the material from the layers exist, matured in a delta scenery or in a sea basin.
The fine-grained, red-brown, approx. 1,5-2m mighty reed sandstone forms the cover of the Golberg. The underneath layers belong to the Gipskeuper. Between coloured, relatively soft marl and clay stones, are bright and a little harder stone marl pieces.
The reed sandstone has his name of rests of former horsetails which one held earlier falsely for reed.
The outcrop, on top at the southwest end of the Golberg, shows the changeover of the uppermost Gipskeuper layers, the Estherien layers, to the reed sandstone and the continual alteration of these layers. To log these Earthcache the following is to be done:
Answer 2 questions with the help of the info board near the outcrop:
A) Which colours have the soft marl and clay stones (Mergel- und Tongestein)?
B) What is the (logical one!) sum of the numbers behind the 4 "Km"s?
Compose the answers to one word. Write the colours in the same order and the sum behind it (e.g. gelblilapink64). Then replace the asterisks in the mail adress geofaex-***@yahoo.de with this word (e.g. geofaex-gelblilapink64@yahoo.de). Send a mail to this adress. Should the mail come back as undeliverable, your solution is not correct.
Moreover, you need a photo. It is your choice what I can see on the picture, but I would be glad about a picture of you and your GPS in front of the railing on the viewing platform (Waypoint EGFOTO, above the outcrop) which is added to your log (for example).
