Sattelkopf has been built in the mid 1940s. These crosses on the

former times, holy masses were hold at the summits. Most of the
higher mountains have a cross on their summit.

Cache
I recommend to start from the village called
Fiss. Take the red cableway up to the top. (You don't need to take
this cableway or another one.
But if you don't, its a very long way, and it will take several
hours just to reach the place where the cableway ends) After
this you'll have to walk the last peace of way. About 35-40 minutes
walk to the cross and 35-40 minutes walk back
agian to the cableway should be enough.
