Geocache Description:


There are many murals around San Francisco, especially in the Mission neighborhood. This is a great place for out-of-town guests to visit; you are just off of Valencia the most diverse street for cuisine west of the Mississippi.

The beautiful Women's Building, known to San Francisco locals as the "Maestrapeace," is a four-story mural titled "Women's Wisdom through Time". The building murals are the vivid result of a yearlong collaboration between seven women artists back in 1994.

This monumentally colorful project wraps around the entire building of this multi-service center for women and girls. The mural features narratives of feminine independence and strength, including depictions of famous women including Georgia O'Keefe, Rigoberta Menchu and Audre Lorde.

Please note, you are only one block away from the beautiful nature mural on the front entrance to the public Mission Pool (18th St - between Valencia and Guerrero St) as well as just a short walk away from “For the Amor of Murals #2” take the opportunity to stop by there as well if you have the chance.

The cache is a magnetic style cache (with some space for trackables), you will need stealth as there are many urbanites visiting the street.

This cache is a replacement of the previous container that went missing.
