Geocache Description:

An easy cache and dash on the access road to Thorney Island.

Car parking is available at N 50° 50.339 W 000° 55.602

The cache is a camoflaged clip-lock container with room for a few swaps. There are quite a few brambles in the surrounding area so be careful when reaching for the cache.

Thorney Island military base is just down the road and you will often see helicopters and military vehicles operating in the area. The double rotor Chinook helicopters are particularly impressive and noisy if they fly overhead!

There is a walk around the island (Thorney Island Coastal Path) via public footpath near the parking area, although you have to buzz an intercom for access to the southern part of the island. The path passes St Nicholas Church and war cemetary.
