Geocache Description:

This cache is part of a local series of 12 hides at locations of Northwest Suburban Council Boy Scout Eagle Projects.

Reaching the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America requires years of dedication and hard work. Over its first 100 years, Scouting has provided millions of hours of service to
communities across America.

The River Trail Nature Center is very supportive of Scouting and has been the site of numerous Eagle Projects. Recent projects include a raised garden near the Nature Center building, an entry gateway to the bird sanctuary, benches, flower boxes behind the bee houses, crosswalks, composting bins, a fire pit,and trail kiosks.
This cache is located in an outdoor amphitheater setting that is yet another Eagle project. The bee houses are nearby, but they seem to keep to themselves.

Be sure to check out the Bald Eagle! as well as other birds, and critters in the nearby shelters.

The center is open from 8am to 5pm in the spring and summer, 8am - 4:30pm in the fall and winter. Cache placed with permission of the Nature Center.
