Geocache Description:

This cache is part of a local series of 12 hides at locations of Northwest Suburban Council Boy Scout Eagle Projects. Each container features a point of the Scout Law. Visit each cache, note the point with the Series #, and submit them all to receive a BSA Cache to Eagle patch.

Reaching the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America requires years of dedication and hard work. Over its first 100 years, Scouting has provided millions of hours of service to communities across America.

Robert G of Troop 50's Eagle project was restoring this Park Ridge War Memorial and improving the landscaping. He organized the cleaning of the memorial, and redesigned the landscaping so the smaller monuments were not covered in bushes as they had been. He also did some research to see if any Park Ridge names needed to be added to the memorial and found out that LTJG Brian John Mathison, who died in Vietnam was not listed. He had a nameplate made and added to the monument. He completed the project in 2007.

Please pay attention to legal parking in this downtown area.

Have no fear, the cache is not in any of the bushes! It's a typical park hide.
