Geocache Description:

This cache celebrates the life and achievements of Frank J S Wise. Tango is the grandson of Frank Wise.

Frank Wise came from Queensland to WA in the late 1920's as a tropical agricultural scientist. He looked first at the possibility of growing rice but decided that the lack of water was a barrier to this. Subsequently he investigated bananas as a potential crop and decided that Carnarvon was the best location. Carnarvon is now famous for its bananas.

He entered politics and was soon appointed Minister for Agriculture and helped in guiding not only tropical crops but also pastoral, grazing and cropping across all WA.

He became Premier of WA but never ceased his representation of his North West electorate interests.

The mint tin cache is hidden at the entrance to the Frank Wise Research Station which was named in his honour.
