Anyone with kids knows the familiar saying, "Gotta catch 'em all!"
No Pokemon found here, however (unless someone leaves cards or
action figures, that is!). Instead, this is a cache aimed at
families with kids as a way to enjoy geocaching together.
The main forces behind this cache are the youngest members of Team
FMA, who happily came to Hudson Mills Metropark to do some
geocaching, only to learn the hard way that most of the caches here
involve walking for miles and/or bushwacking through thorns and
poison ivy, even the one cache aimed at getting kids caching. Not
very family friendly! Why can't there be a cache here really just
for kids? they asked. One permit application later, and voila!
Park at the Activity Center lot, then go around that nice new
children's playground (you can come back to it later!) and follow
the gravel road to start your quest. There is no need to leave the
road/trail until you are about 15 feet from the cache. Mosquito
repellent might be needed on muggy days or after rain. Please be
sure to hide the cache exactly as you found it. Initial contents
include: a Teenie Beanie Baby, a Matchbox car, a box of crayons, a
bracelet-making kit, High School Musical tattoos, and a Hannah
Montana journal, all brand new. If you are taking something, please
be sure to leave something similarly new and for the kids! TBs and
geocoins welcome!
This cache is located within Hudson Mills Metropark. A Metroparks
permit is required: $5 daily pass, $25 annual pass, $15 Seniors.
For general information please call 810-227-2757 or 800-47-PARKS,
