Geocache Description:

This cache will take you to a Seaway Trail interpretive sign and New York historical marker outside the Buffalo & Erie County Historical Society. Here you will need to gather a few numbers from the information on the signs in order to find the final, which is a short walk away overlooking Mirror Lake.

A great number of historical events have taken place in the Buffalo since it was settled in the 1700s. One of the most significant was the Pan-American Exposition of 1901. This world's fair was a showcase of technological innovations and highlighted the new use of electricity. Unfortunately it was also the place where President William McKinley was shot, and then died a few days later. There were numerous temporary buildings built on the grounds to showcase all the innovations, but only one was intended to be permanent. That permanent building was the New York State Building, now known as the Buffalo & Erie County Historical Society.

In order to find the cache, fill in the missing numbers in the following coordinates from the information on the Seaway Trail interpretive sign, and the large blue New York historical marker to your right. The cache is NOT on private property. If your calculated coordinates tell you it is, you probably messed up the "B" clue.
