Keep fit with a walk or ride to the fishing platform on the new Ted Smout Bridge.
The new Ted Smout bridge is Australia's longest bridge. Ted Smout was a veteran of WW1 and has an interesting story, check out his wiki page.
Halfway along the new bridge is a fishing platform, which was crying out for nice new geocache. It took three attempts to plant it. My first attempted to plant the cache on the peoples day, which was the first time the public could get on the bridge, but the fishing platform could not be accessed. Then I tried to plant my magnetic cache shortly after the bridge opened to traffic, but everything metallic is stainless steel. Third attempt with my new design and I found the perfect spot.
This cache can only be accessed by foot or bicycle. The closest parking is at either end of the bridge. Allow at least a 3km round trip. We often park at the southern end, walk the bridge, get an ice cream and walk back. The fishing platform is wheelchair friendly, though there are steep ramps. An able bodied person will need to retrieve the cache.
Take your fishing poles and make a day of it!

New cache planted 13/08/11 after the original was muggled. The cache has been moved and is much easier to get to. Do not lean out over the water or climb the railing. Your body needs to stay safely on the dry side to retrieve the cache.
I have called it a micro because there is only room for the book and pencil.
