Located on the beautiful Musquash River. Find the hidden treasure located within the sunken barge. Inside the water jug you will find a log book, rules page, pencil, square nails from the Mill as our gift to you from us. You will need a canoe/small boat, swim trunks and a towel to retrieve this cache.

In the 1850s the Muskoka Milling and Lumber Co. harnessed the waters of the Musquash River to drive three sawmills. While most of the dwellings ringed the shores of the little bay where the mills stood, many others were scattered along the coastline towards Franceville, where a hotel stood for a number of years. Normally, the mill employed 200 hands but, during peak periods, this doubled to 400. There were 11 tugs, scows, and barges, two or three of which now rest on the bottom of the Musquash River or in the adjoining bays.
Around the mouth of the Musquosh River a few remnants of Muskoka Mills can still be found. These include the foundations of the mills and a few old company buildings which stood until recent years. Along the shoreline, there remain a few of the old cabins which once housed mill hands and their families.
Today, the waters around Honey Harbour abound with speeding motorboats and its islands and shores are dotted with summer cottages while, in a quiet back bay by the mouth of the Muskoka River, nature is slowly reclaiming the one-time mill village of Muskoka Mills.
Once you locate the cache the container is held with a chain, rope and quick release clip. Please double check when you put the cashe back that it is fastened properly. Enjoy your adventure
