Geocache Description:


Berna Eli "Barney" Oldfield (June 3, 1878 - October 4, 1946)
was born on a farm just outside of Wauseon, Ohio.
He went on to become this nation's first great automobile racer.
As most of this races were on dirt roads, this series pays homage to him by placing caches around Fulton County only on dirt and stone roads. Enjoy!




Oldfield also finished second in two major road races in 1914, the Vanderbilt Cup and the Corona 300. In 1915 he won the Venice, California 300 road race.
