Geocache Description:

Welcome to Lake Warren State Park! This cache is placed with permission of the Park Manager.

This 440-acre park features a 200-acre lake, 2-acre fishing pond, nature trails, playgrounds, picnic areas, and a community building. The park includes a floodplain forest, wetlands and other woodlands hosting a variety of wildlife. Admission to the park is free.

This cache is placed to say "thank you" to our friends in the SavannahGeocaching group. We attended the Geocaching "Tinth" Anniversary event hosted by Georgia Treasure Quester and MadCat. Because "tin" is the typical tenth anniversary gift, everyone came with their tin hats to enhance the good food and company. Corn won an ammo can with swag for his enormous, shining Viking hat! We promised to place the cache as close to Savannah as we could get and still maintain it. Lake Warren State Park is a great place to visit and we hope it fits the bill!

The cache is placed along the interpretive nature trail that leads to the small fishing pond. We advise you to stay on the trail until your GPSr says you are close. The cache is in the base of a large sweetgum tree off the trail. If you continue down the trail after finding the cache, you will come to a bench with a view of the brushy edge of the fishing pond.

There is a special prize in the logbook for the first to find.

We hope you enjoy your visit to Lake Warren State Park!

Congratulations to Georgia Treasure Quester on the FTF!!!
