Geocache Description:

Not sure when the school was closed, but everything looks like it is still in use becasue the site has been restored by the locals with funding from a Victorian heritage grant.. The school is a lovely stone building which is a change, seeing as most of the old schools in the Wimmera are only remembered by a roadside marker. I was told it is the only school in Victoria built out of this type of stone.

The township of Kenmare had roads planned and house lots were marked out when the railway line was expected in the 1890's... trouble was, the route was changed, so the bustling town didn't eventuate.
The house across the road from the school is built on land that used to be occupied by a wine shanty (a pub) and a blacksmiths. There was also a church/hall and some tennis courts near where the fire shed is now.

Cache is a lunch-box size container with logbook and swaps. I dont think any hints are needed, it should be easy. ;-)
