Cache situado en el interior del Castillo de Oropesa del Mar, del tipo cajetilla. De facil acceso por el casco antiguo del pueblo, que recomendamos visitar.
El castillo de Oropesa del Mar fue, inicialmente, construido por los musulmanes que abandonaron Orpesa la Vella por motivos estratégicos y de seguridad. Basta que el visitante se sitúe en él para comprobar el absoluto dominio visual que se tiene del horizonte se mire donde se mire.
Posteriormente, y dada su importancia castrense, fue conquistado por personajes históricos como El Cid (1090) o el Rey Jaime I (1233).
Varias han sido las familias de señores de Oropesa del Mar, pero destacan por su importancia tres: los Jaffero, que obtuvieron el privilegio de tener un puerto franco, los Thous, señorío durante el cual se construyó la Torre del Rey, y los Cervellón, cuando se otorgó la Carta Puebla a Oropesa del Mar (3 de Abril de 1589).
Hoy en día, el castillo de Oropesa del Mar constituye una referencia histórica, plagada de entresijos políticos y diplomáticos tan propios de la Edad Media.
Pasearse por el castillo resucita ese sentimiento de grandeza que tienen los hombres al pensar que todo lo que ven es suyo.

Por el interes del lugar se recomienda ser respetuoso con el entorno y dejar todo conforme se encontró. Lugar bastante concurrido en verano, ir con cuidado con los curiosos.

The Castle of Oropesa del Mar was originally built by the Moors who left Orpesa la Vella on strategic and security reasons. It is enough that the visitor is placed in it to check the absolute visual domain that has the horizon, look where you look.
