Rialt (Ru Col Alto, Masaré)
[ENG]: A cache hidden near the Ru de Rialt waterfall (Ru Col
Alto, Masaré)
[ITA]: Questa facile cache è nascosta nei pressi della
cascata che forma il Ru Col Alto poco prima di immettersi nel
torrente Cordevole. Il Ru Col Alto (o Ru de Rialt) è un piccolo
torrente che scende dal versante occidentale del Monte Civetta
(3220 m) e nasce dal congiungimento di tre torrenti tra il Bec di
Mezzodì, la cima di Col Rean e le Meriane Basse. La cache è
facilmente raggiungibile lasciando la macchina alle coordinate
indicate nel waypoint e proseguendo per il sentiero 563, seguendo
le indicazioni per la cascata. Dopo appena 15-20 min si arriva ai
piedi della cascatella che il torrente forma gettandosi da uno
sbalzo di circa 40 metri su un costone di roccia magmatica, che
spicca per il suo colore scuro rispetto alla chiara Dolomia che
compone il Civetta. La visita alla cascatella è un facile e
simpatico diversivo per chi si trova nelle vicinanze di Alleghe e
vuole fare una veloce camminata senza fare troppa fatica. La cache
si trova a pochi metri dalla cascata, quindi non serve avvicinarsi
troppo all'acqua. Il sentiero è ben segnalato e mai pericoloso. Il
posto è raggiungibile anche d'inverno, ma occorre il materiale
adatto (ciaspe se c'è tanta neve) e un po' di accortezza, visto che
si possono trovare lastre di ghiaccio formate dall'acqua della
cascata. Come in tutta la montagna, occorre stare lungo il sentiero
e prestare attenzione a vipere e altri pericoli. Dal sentiero che
porta alla cache, guardando verso ovest, è anche possibile vedere
bene il Monte Piz con il suo macereto, testimonianza della frana
che nel 1771 ha ostruito il torrente Cordevole formando il lago di
Alleghe.

[ENG]: This easy cache is hidden near the waterfall formed
by Ru Col Alto stream just before entering in the Cordevole river.
Col Alto Ru (or Ru de Rialto) is a small stream that flows from the
western slope of Mount Civetta (3220 m) and arises from the
junction of three rivers between Bec di Mezzodì, cima di Col Rean
and Meriane Basse. The cache can be easily reached by leaving the
car at the coordinates specified in the waypoint and continuing
along the path no. 563, following the signs to the waterfall
(Italian: cascata). After 15-20 minutes you arrive at the waterfall
that Ru Col Alto form by jumping form an overhang of approx 40
meters. Here, you can see a rocky ridge magma, which stands out for
its color darker than the clear dolomite forming the Civetta. The
visit to the waterfall is an easy and fun way for anyone. The cache
was placed few meters from the waterfall, so it is not into the
water. The trail is well marked and never dangerous. The place is
accessible even in winter with snowshoes (be careful: you can found
ice). Be careful to snakes and other hazards. On the path to the
cache, looking west, you can also see the Monte Piz, with the signs
of the landslide that blocked the Cordevole river in 1771 by
forming the Lake of Alleghe.
