Cache to mark the Eagle Project(s) of a Boy Scout(s) from Troop
0799 in Marseilles,IL.
Eagle Scout is the highest rank in all of Scouting. The young man
who has met the requirements of Eagle Rank has passed many
milestones in his journey. The Eagle Project must demonstrate
leadership of others and provide service to a worthy institution
other than the Boy Scouts. This may be a religious institution,
school, or community. This is the site of two Eagle projects. One
young man chose to design and build a sidewalk that linked the
parking lot to the entrance of the church. The church where this
cache is located is home to Troop 99 as well as Cub Scout Pack 3799
and a Girl Scout troop. The church also has a very active youth
program as well. With all those little feet cutting through the
bushes on the way to their many meetings, the sidewalk out near the
street wasn't used very often. This is the reason this exceptional
Scout decided to take on the project. The second project built on
this site is the beautiful garden that surrounds the walkway built
by the first scout. These two boys came up through the program
together and it is appropriate that their two projects complimented
one another the same way their friendship did. This cache is placed
with permission of the First Untied Methodist Church of Marseilles.
The cache has a Scout theme to it.(First Aid kits, Scout patches
etc.) Please be respectful of the site as it is a very active
church and there are usually lots of little muggles roaming about.
Remember, Indians chasing Buffalo always have the right of way!
