This part of Berkeley needs some more caches, so here’s one to bring you to another landmark structure. The coordinates above will bring you to the first viewing station where you will need to collect the information you need to determine the final coordinates for the cache at N 37° 51.ABC W 122° 17.DEF. Regardless of what your GPSr might say, you are not standing in the street, and there is no need to be precise about where it says you must be in order to view what you need to see.
Not your normal industrial plant, this richly ornate building dominated California Highway 123 (now more familiar as San Pablo Avenue) when it was built in 1927-1928. Despite the closing of the plant in 1956, the building has survived because of its Mediterranean design, and it continues to serve as a retail and office center as well as an educational campus and art center.
