Geocache Description:

This cache is in honor of the flamingo statute that seems strangely out of place in the middle of a traffic circle. This is another of our caches in the Malha area, including Malha Vista and Marvelous Malha Mall. This flamingo also has a twin brother in another traffic circle not far from the zoo. I feel a multicache coming in the future….

Israel is situated at an intercontinental junction, a literal bottleneck for migration routes. An estimated 500 million birds pass through Israel every spring and fall, including some 530 species. According to the Israbirding.com website, flamingos migrate through Israel during the summer months and they may also be found year round near Eilat (on the Red Sea). Fortunately, this statue gives us at least one (two with its nearby brother) flamingo year round in Jerusalem, in addition to its real cousins at the zoo.

**Obviously be careful around the traffic. You will not need to stand in the road to find this cache. Parking is available by the mall or near the technology buildings. Safety first!**
