Geocache Description:





Urban Deforestation...
This cache brings you to a vantage point overlooking the "Enchanted Woods" (GC250P5) which has recently been disabled as it turns out that the woods are shortly to become a distant memory! I see this event as an opportunity for some experimental photo journalism - I encourage Geocachers visiting this cache during significant periods of the felling operation to take photos and post them here, so that the progressive removal of the forest is captured for posterity

I have attached the first photo to kick things off and hope that it will grow to become an informative photo essay of "Urban Deforestation"...

About the cache
The cache is a camo'd 200ml sistema container. It contains a pencil, sharpener and logsheet.

About the location
The cache is placed alongside the River Road (SH2) and is virtually a "driveby" but this should not be attempted from the River Road itself - You cannot stop on SH2 but must only access the cache from the gravel road running beside the river.

Hazards!
As the cache is near an extremely busy road any junior cachers visiting the area must be kept on a short leash. The same goes for any visiting Geohounds that like to wander! There is also a small bluff (known as 'Mains Rock') near the GZ that could also be hazardous to junior cachers so please take all due care when in the area.

Stealth - Please!
The cache's GZ is directly observable from the busy road so please exercise some stealth when hunting for it, and time your search for when there are gaps between the streams of cars, as suspicious activities observed by passing muggles will lead to the cache going missing. Having said that, when first placed, the cache was nicely situated so it should be a quick find so that you don't have to linger under observation...

The GPS was playing up during placement and may be up to 5m out so I welcome logs of revised co-ordinates to help future finders!

And finally...
I am using a log sheet for all Geocachers to record their success, and when it is full, I will scan the logsheet and attach its image to this cache entry as an archive! Please let me know when the logsheet is nearing maintenance time and I will supply a new sheet.
