Geocache Description:

Cache is situated in a layby on the A75 trunk road which runs from M6 motorway in the east to the ferry ports of Stranraer and Cairnryan in the west. Cache has been placed as a hotel for TBs going to and from Northern Ireland.

Cache replaces a previous TB Hotel at Skyreburn (3 miles to the east) as the orginal site became unsuitable. Log Book from previous cache continues.

The cache is situated in a layby between Gatehouse of Fleet and Creetown on the A75. Please do take care when arriving and leaving as it is a busy trunk road.
The layby (was once a bend on the road) sits above Ravenshall Point and there are some wildlife information boards. The shore below was also used by smugglers bringing in goods such as tea and salt from the Isle of Man. Dirk Hatteraick's Cave used by the smuggles is located on the coast close by.
Coming from the east the cache site is the first layby on the left after passing Auchenlairie Holiday Park.
Coming from the west the site is the first layby on the right after the road junction/sign for Cairnholy.
