Less is Moor Cache placed to bring you to a lesser used footpath
that makes a superb short circular walk to Bolton Abbey, avoiding
the somewhat pricey parking fees
Suggested parking on the lay-by just off the roundabout heading
towards Addingham. Walking back towards the roundabout, the gate on
the right takes you onto the riverside footpath to the old Bolton
Bridge. Turn right over the bridge then look for the footpath on
the left that takes you up the east side of the river towards the
abbey. Once cache located, you can continue up to the abbey, cross
the stepping stones and buy your ice creams, before returning along
the riverside footpath taking you back along fields beside the
cricket pitch and helicopter landing pad. Tea & cake available
at farm shop near Bolton Bridge If time to spare, walk up beyond
the farm shop to the fascinating yet often overlooked Beamsley
Hospital, an unusual stone circular Almshouse built in 1593
