This Pillbox/ Gun Enplacement dates back to the dark days of the early part of WW2 when the South coast of England was bracing itself for an expected invasion from Nazi Germany after the fall of France. The site has a perfect view of the coast from Pett Level to Rye Bay, this area was considered a perfect landing spot for troops. There is no access to the site, as its located on private land, but from the path you get a good view. Please don't try and gain access, also please close any gates on footpath.
