10/02/11 -- UPDATE: Well, dang. After all these years,
someone finally decided to tear down the old Candle Factory
building. The (de-)construction crew put up a fence around the
area, and who knows how long it will take them to complete it
and/or if I will ever be able to re-hide in its original spot.
Given the fact it's no longer even recognizable as the Candle
Factory, I thought about archiving the cache. Instead, I stopped by
with the original cache in hand and found a suitable place for it
to live on a while longer. Thanks & happy hunting! --Matt
ORIGINAL CACHE DESCRIPTION
I grew up on Rabbit Hill, nearby this location. When I was a
kid, I used to ride my bike down the hill and come here to buy some
rock candy and chocolates. I loved this place and am sad to see it
gone (although they are still around on the web), but I thought it
would make a great hiding spot.
This is my first hide, so go easy on me. :-) After about 375
finds, I figured it was simply time I started "giving back". I hid
it with my kids who really enjoy caching. If you get a chance,
please take some pictures and post them so they can better see what
caching looks like "from the other side".
