Cache to Eagle series highlights Eagle Projects that have improved our community.

Cache to Eagle is a program started by the Boy Scouts to increase interest in Geocaching. This program is springing up all over the country. The goal is to Cache to Eagle caches in every District, of every Council where Boy Scouts is in place.
The caches in this series are to recognize projects boys have completed in the Sweetwater District of the San Diego-Imperial Council. Sweetwater District covers the areas of: Chula Vista, Bonita, San Ysidro, Coronado, Otay Lakes, National City, South San Diego and Imperial Beach

Each cache contains one of twelve points of the Boy Scout Law (to be found inside the top). An explanation of the Boy Scout Law may be found at (visit link)

Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venture Scouts and Sea Cadets interested in earning a special "Cache to Eagle" patch may take note of which point of the Boy Scout Law is on the top of each cache's log sheet. To earn the patch, be sure to record which part of the Scout Law is written on each cache and then fill out the form here: (visit link)

Eagle is the highest rank a Boy Scout can attain. It encompasses many years of learning about the outdoors, many nights camping, and teaches abilities to lead others. Built into the program is community service, which a Scout must plan, coordinate, execute, and report for their Eagle project.

This cache highlights a project completed by a Life Scout in Troop 874 from Bonita. His project created a pathway and built benches for the Stations of the Cross at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. The pathway was built to emphasize the Stations. It was built in the Ministry center and will serve as both a reflection area as well as for educational purposes. He spent 224 hours planning, coordinating, fund raising, and managing scouts and volunteers to complete the task.

Please leave Boy/Cub/Venture Scout/Sea Cadet swag if possible. To learn more about Boy Scouts and the great things they do, please visit (visit link)
