Geocache Description:

This cache is part of my Creepy Crawly series in the Topton Watershed property. It is close to the parking and is very easy to find for cachers with a little experience. The path belongs to Topton Boro, but the field beyond the path does not. The field is private property. PLEASE DO NOT GO MORE THAN 25 FEET DOWN THE PATH. THE NIGHT CACHE HAS BEEN ARCHIVED AND THAT AREA IS OFF LIMITS.
PLEASE DO NOT BLOCK THE GATE!

Cachers should STAY OUT OF THE FIELDS! THEY ARE PRIVATE PROPERTY! Don't go there because the landowner of the fields gets very upset with trespassers. If you park at N40 28.925 W 075 42.067, there should be no problem, but if you take shortcuts through the woods from other parking, and go into or near the fields, the landowner will not tolerate your presence. If you stay on the paths and follow directions, you will be fine.
There are all kinds of creepy crawly creatures, and this one is very familiar, in its natural size. I displayed this specimen in my science classroom for years, but now he makes the perfect cache container. Bring your own pen or pencil, and an extraction tool.

Camponotus pennsylvanicus, the carpenter ant, likes to build its nest in cavities dug in dead wood.

Wearing long pants may help with the poison ivy located hereabouts. No ticks were found when the Series was placed in July, but May and October can produce plenty of the creepy crawlers.

The acreage is public land, Topton Watershed property. Hunting is allowed, making it best to cache on Sundays during the hunting seasons. For 2010, for instance, Bow season is Sept.18th to Nov. 27th, regular deer season is Nov 29 to Dec. 11th, flintlock Dec.27th to Jan. 29th. Also 2010 spring gobbler season is April 30th-May 31st. No fall turkey season. Most turkey hunters only hunt in the morning. Wearing orange is good, but it's better to just let the hunters alone and let them do their thing.
