During its early years, it had a fairly unkept appearance and was a
source of concern for the town. The cemetery association, led by
Mr. and Mrs John Dam, worked exceedingly hard to raise money to
make the cemetery a fitting tribute to the pioneers of the town.
After 1943, the school district operated the cemetery until the
present cemetery association was formed.
