Red House Glass Cone Multi-Cache
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
A nice easy off-set multi placed alongside of the Stourbridge canal.
The large bottle shaped kiln, known as the Red House Glass cone was built in 1790 and is the only one of its kind still remaining in the Black Country and is now the home of a glass museum. The above co-ords are for the museum car park. Admission to the museum is free and very well worth a visit. To get the co-ords for the cache, What is the temperature of the molten glass in degrees C? shown on the logo, on the blue notice boards at the front of the car park and on the side of the building. = ABCD (Note the museum dosn't need to be open to get this imformation) Cache location N 52. 28. C(A+B+C)B W 002. 09. (C-A)C(A+C) To get to the cache you will have to cross the very busy road and access the canal towpath, so please use the crossing. You can get a good view of the cone from a little further along the canal and below the bridge are buildings of the former Stuart Crystal Glassworks. The cache is a magnetic film container with log sheet. This is a HIGH MUGGLE AREA so great stealth is needed. Parking is at the museum or the pub across the road.
