Geocache Description:

A camoflaged small tube.

The cache is hidden just off the Sustrans National Cycle Network (NCN) Route 6, which runs from Derby to York (via Nottingham). This path is very popular with cyclists and pedestrians so stealth will be required.

It is located near the Derby Canal which was completed in 1795. It was closed in 1964 after competition from the railways had reduced canal traffic considerably. In 1994, the Derby and Sandiacre Canal Society was formed to work towards reopening this canal.

Although the canal only contains a little water at present, the sides can be fairly steep, so take care with children.

Please re-hide carefully.
