It was fun! Here is the log:
The event officially starts at 10:10:10am, but don't worry, this is
not one of those flash events. We'll be there through lunch and on
into the afternoon. The Heron Shelter has been reserved through
4pm. We'll probably eat around 12:30 or 1:00
Special thanks to Motrin Man for getting the food going. I would
give him double billing on the event if he had more 10's in his
handle! :)
Food so far, in large quantities: - hot dogs and fixins - baked
beans - potato salad (thanks horsegeeks!) - brownies - banana
pudding - drinks (water, lemonade, maybe sweet ice tea - feel free
to bring soda or whatever else if that don't work for ya' - park
regulations prohibit alcohol, though)
If you want to bring *a lot* of something, let me know and i'll
add it to the list. Otherwise post a note so everyone else will
know. Thanks!
So far the following have been mentioned specifically: veggie
dogs chicken tenders hot MacnCheese
There will be a photo scavenger hunt through the park for kids
(and adults who boycotted their grown-up fun-ectomy).
Also some unofficial temporary caches (with interesting
swag).
And apparently it wouldn't be an event without a door prize so
we'll have some of those too.
There is a small play ground in sight of the shelter and a huge
one on the other side of the park.
