Geocache Description:

The Owatonna Parks Departments has 900 acres of park land within the City of Owatonna, the parks are for your use no matter the season. Fall is colored leaves, Winter is snow hiking or cross country skiing, Spring is wildflower season, and summer – well summer is wonderful in our parks.

The Parks and Recreation staff maintain 27 parks,900+ acres of park land, 350+ acres mowed, trimmed, fertilized, sprayed, aerated, etc. 8+ miles of hard surfaced trails, 9+ miles of wood chipped trails, 13 open air picnic shelters, Warsinski Chalet, 26 permanent rest rooms, 13 portable rest rooms, 80+ grills, 22 drinking fountains, 21 softball/baseball fields, 20 horseshoe courts, 5 basketball courts, 16 tennis courts, 4 football fields, 8 sand volleyball courts, 15 soccer fields, 100 plus park benches, 500 plus picnic tables, 400+ garbage receptacles, 12 playgrounds (40 swings), 70 flower beds, 3 fishing piers.
