Sunny Hill "the greatest place on earth." Strangely there are no caches in this country wonderland. Decided it was time to place my first cache. A quick walk and an easy find just off the beaten trail.
Sunny Hill resort and golf course. Run by the Nicholson family, is a place that I hold very dear to me as I've been going there with my family for the last 25 years. I was quite surprised to find that there aren't any caches in the immediate area and felt it about time to get one out there.
This is my first attempt at hiding a cache. Can be found just off the Sunny Hill hiking trail. Entrance to this trail is found just behind the seventh tee box and behind a tractor shed. The terrain is easy and can be taken on by people of all ages.
The cache container is a tupperware container with an orange top. Inside is a log and pen as well as several trinkets.
After finding the cache I would recommend continuing along the trail which in one direction loops around to the main road or in the other will bring you to the "Thunderhart" golf course which is also owned and run by the Nicholson family.
***If you are not a guest at Sunny Hill and are attempting to locate this cache my suggestion would be to park in the main lot by the office, then follow your gps and nose past the dining hall and onto the trail entrance. Smiles and "hellos" are definitely a good idea for both guests and employees to avoid "suspicion". As with all hikes and places where you are a visitor, please leave only footprints.***
ALSO GPS IS SPOTTY HERE SO PLEASE BARE WITH THE COORDINATES...I'VE UPDATED THEM TO KEEP AS ACCURATE AS POSSIBLE....HINT SHOULD HELP IF YOU'RE HAVING TROUBLE.
