Nel 1609 la famiglia Contarini fece erigere sul Terraglio, tra Preganziol e San Trovaso, una chiesetta dedicata a Santa Maria delle Grazie, decorandola con una copia della Madonna delle Grazie di Brescia, proprietà dagli eremiti Gerolimini di Fiesole. Avendo questi frati anche un monastero nell'omonima isola veneziana, ottennero in concessione la chiesa delle Grazie.
Sul finire del 1668 papa Clemente IX soppresse l'ordine e ne assegnò i beni alla Repubblica di Venezia, bisognosa di fondi per sostenere la guerra contro i Turchi.
Per tale motivo la chiesetta, con i circostanti sette campi di terreno, fu messa all'asta e acquistata dai fratelli Albrizzi, nobili veneziani, per duemila ducati. Il soffitto di questa chiesa, come quello di San Trovaso, era stato decorato dal Carrer.

In 1609 the family Contarini erected on the Terraglio, Preganziol and between San Trovaso, a church dedicated to Santa Maria delle Grazie, decorating it with a copy of the Madonna delle Grazie in Brescia, owned by hermits Gerolimini of Fiesole. Having these friars also a monastery in the homonymous Venetian island, gained in granting the Church of Grace.
At the end of 1668 Pope Clement IX suppressed the order and it gave the goods to the Republic of Venice, in need of money to support the war against the Turks.
For this reason, the church, with the surrounding seven fields of land, was auctioned and bought by brothers Albrizzi, Venetian nobles, for two thousand ducats. The ceiling of this church, like that of San Trovaso, had been decorated by the Carrer.
