Save the Quails Traditional Cache

This Cache is in the San Felipe Valley Wildlife Area (managed by the California Department of Fish and Game). Walking is fairly easy on the level valley floor and hard, sandy surface. Kids who are in good shape will enjoy this area. You might want to wear something bright or florescent because hunting occurs in season.
The best place to park is at the small parking area on the West side of County highway S-2. It is between mile markers 11 and 12. The coordinates are N 33° 08.634 and W 116° 32.419.
You may have to do a little bushwhacking. Be aware of Mountain Lions, Rattlesnakes, and ticks. Hike early in the morning during the hot time of the year.
The Cache is a clear plastic box with a BLUE lid. Please hide it carefully before you leave. I cached the following:
