Eagleson Lookout Traditional Cache

This little pie shaped area of maples was just begging for a cache to be placed in it!
This cache is located in a beautiful stand of maples at the corner of Eagleson and Katimavik Roads in Kanata. There is a lightly worn trail leading into the bush (Trailhead is located at N45 18.864 W075 53.044). A good place to park is on Inuvik Crescent. (See PK Waypoint) From that point, you will be following a short trail through the Katimavik Woods and the maple stand will be on the other side of the road. There are pedestrian crosswalks at sets of traffic lights to the east and to the west or... Beware of the ground hog holes; there are lots of them! The cache is a cammoed jar. (See updated info below) The original contents were: - log book and pencil - moose (just a toy one!) - frog candles - "Ottawa" lapel pin - Veritas pocket screwdriver Congratulations to HurricaneHolly for being the FTF my third cache! (I hope you took the $ and ran!) Note: In response to comments in the logs so far, I have added some additional optional parking spots. I hope you find this info helpful in your hunt...(03/08/10) ********Note #2: Due to the mishap to coolcanoe on October 3/10, the cache container has now been replaced. It's now a plastic container. There's a bit of swag to get it going again and room for small TB's and geocoins. I also added a pencil sharpener. This is not a trade item! ********Note #3: As of 13 Feb 11, the pencil has gone missing, so until such time as I can replace, remember to bring one along with you!
