4.23. Unarchiving a Geocache

The archiving of a geocache is intended to be a permanent status. That is why only community volunteer reviewers and Geocaching HQ staff have the capability to unarchive it. This is done only in rare circumstances and only if it meets the current Geocache Listing Guidelines.

If a geocache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance it will not be unarchived.

Geocache Description:

The listed coordinates are the location of the South Australian Division of Engineers Australia. As part of their 90th anniversary, Engineers Australia developed a booklet describing the story of Adelaide's engineering heritage. This cache is the final of a series of five which gives you a walking tour of the sites.

The booklet is an interesting read and contains the four walking maps that are the basis for:
GC2CH3P - Engineering a City #1: North Adelaide
GC2CH3T - Engineering a City #2: Around the River
GC2CH3Y - Engineering a City #3: Promenades & Parklands
GC2CH43 - Engineering a City #4: Central to South Adelaide

You can pick up a hard copy booklet at the Visitor Centre in Rundle Mall or at the South Australian Division of Engineers Australia.

Alert: You are about to download a file in order to obtain further details needed to find this geocache. As the cache owner, I represent that this file is safe to download although the files needed to complete this geocache have not been checked by Groundspeak or by the Reviewer for possible malicious content. As a result, you are downloading this file at your own risk.
You can download the booklet here.

Take some time to visit all the sites in the booklet; you'll learn more about 'the hidden profession' and discover some amazing things about our beautiful city!

Each of these four caches contains a clue which will help you find this final cache. Gather the four clues from the lids of the caches and put them all together. There are 24 different ways to assemble the clues but only two will give a solution near enough to the listed coordinates. Unfortunately the council has made a bit of a hash of the final location but I've come up with my own little bit of engineering heritage reuse for you!

By now you will be well used to spotting engineering masterpieces, both new and old. Enjoy your hunt!
