Tabloc box containing log, pencils, parer, some trade goods. The cache is placed along the Keenagh Loop walk. [Details below] It is in a remote location. It requires reasonable fitness and good footwear.
It is at a height of 117 metres approx
This is a hikers cache. No vehicular access. It is placed on the Keenagh Loop Walk, at the most remote point of the hike. Here one faces into Glendorragha, with Birreencorragh rising to 698 metres to the north west of the cache. Park at Bellanaderg Bridge near junction of R312 and R316. There is parking at the trail head there is also a map board.O.S. map 31 1:50000 is the local map required. The entire loop in 11.5k. long. It may be approached by hiking clockwise, this is a longer way to the cache, [but is is the usual direction to take] or by hiking anticlockwise, here one faces a climb across a saddle [a maum] at 227 metres.
This is a magical mystical place and time should be given to the hike in and out. Enjoy!!!
